Many of the era’s in this time are recreated in modern runway collections to bring back fashions that people may have forgot of and to give something new. This also happened in the space age; a designer created a bubble like dress that was influenced by the space age era.

The hippie era came around in the begining of the 60’s. They introduced the beards, headbands, lon hair, and long skirts. There are still styles comin down the runway with a hippie inspired look. Our “bohemian” look derived from the Hippies fashion.

Durin WWII many fabrics were not able to be used and very used sparingly. Around the 1950’s new fabric was introduced, such as modacrylics, acrylics, polyester, triacetate, and spandex, which are still used in most of our clothing today.

TV influenced the fashions in the 20th century. Many people, especially the young were inspired by the clothing worn by the celebrities, such as Elvis, Lucille Ball and Pat Boone. During the 20’s and 30’s military clothing were popular because of WWI & II. The Eisenhower jacket and battle jackets in particular. Now, we still see a military style of clothing for women and men. It seems to be very popular for women, but the double breated military jackets for the men are still around.
